Biography

Tamara Latchem is the lead teacher of the Primary 3 classroom. She has been an educator for over 15 years, with 14 years of Montessori experience. Her first eight years in Montessori education took place here at St. James, both in the toddler and primary programs. Tamara then transitioned to the Dallas public school system, where she taught in the elementary Montessori program at George Bannerman Dealey. Most recently, Tamara has served as mama and Montessori guide to her twins at home. Now, she is thrilled to be back at St. James with her children. 

 

Tamara has a Bachelor’s of Arts in Child and Family Studies from the University of Texas Permian Basin. She is a Montessori certified guide for children from birth to nine years of age (NAMC certified for 0-3 years and AMS certified for 3-6 and 6-9 years). She is passionate about helping all children flourish in a Montessori setting and building school-home connections. 

 

Outside the classroom, she enjoys gardening, yoga and barre inspired fitness, cooking, home remodeling, and exploring nature with her family.
