Technology is ubiquitous - touching almost every part of our lives, our communities, and our homes. At St. James, we aim to introduce students to the skills they need to approach a highly technological knowledge-based world in a positive, constructive way. Using a Montessori approach, students are introduced to technology as a tool to produce, rather than consume. Students are encouraged to create, write, and use critical thinking skills to solve problems in the computer lab.
St James begins the Technology curriculum in the Kindergarten year. Students begin by learning the parts of the computer, and how they work. We use Lego Robotics to build simple robotic machines, write stories using Microsoft Word, and design Powerpoint presentations of their favorite class works.
